Pork producers marketing Prop 12 pigs with Wiechman Pig Company must certify live animals purchased from them are born from sows who have been housed during their gestation period according to the regulation. Once the pigs are born, a tracking system ensures they have been segregated from the non-Prop 12 pigs. The live pigs, from these particular sows are the pigs we import into California as a Prop 12-compliant live animals.
